Day 1: Kyrgyz border – Karakul Lake – Murgab
This day you will be met by your driver at the border and then drive to Murgab. You are going to transfer today over picturesque mountains and high passes. En route you will stop over Taldik pass, which is 3615 meters high; there you can enjoy fabulous pictures. Located in the Eastern part of the Pamir, Lake Karakul is the largest drain less lake, South of the Zaalai range, in the Gorn-Badakhshan Autonomous region of Tajikistan. The name of the lake can be translated from Turkic as "Black lake". You will have an opportunity to make splendid photos of the lake. Then you will drive to Murgab. Murgab is the largest district of Tajikistan, whose territory is 100 % mountainous. It is located at an altitude of 3,600 meters above sea level, deep in the Pamir Mountains, in Eastern Tajikistan. And this is really the highest regional center in the former Soviet Union. According the route you will transfer drive over the highest Ak Baital pass (4 655 m). You will spend the night in the hotel.
Day 2: Murgab – Yashil Kul Lake – Bulunkul Lake
The destinations of the day the fabulous lakes of the Pamirs- Yashil Kul and Bulunkul (Blue lakes), are situated in the Murghab district. You will spend a night near them today. Yashilkul Lake is translated from Tajik as Green Lake. The water in the lake is clear and transparent, where you can watch schools of fish. It stretches at an altitude of 3700 meters above sea level, and its length is 19 km. The water in Bulunkul is fresh, with an abundance of aquatic plants. On the surface of the water you can see ducks and geese. Bulunkul Lake is much smaller than Yashilkul and is connected by a narrow bridge. En route you will observe powerful yaks, a unique species of domestic animals. Today you will transfer over Naizatash pass (4 137 m). Night will be in cozy homestay.
Day 3: Bulunkul – Yamg
You will direct today to Yamg. The road will go over Khargush pass (4 344 m). On the way you will admire the majestic landscapes and mountains. The unique landscape and the rocky mountains of this fabulous edge of the country presented a rare diversity of wildlife. There are live Turkestan rat, tiger-cat, grizzly bear, badger, stoat, fox, grey and red wolves. A favorite place for snow leopards should be considered the lower part of the eternal snowfields, where wild mountain goats and rams of Marco Polo find their food on the crushed slopes among the bizarre boulders and rocks. These majestic animals are raised by the Pamir people. You will spend the night in the homestay.
Day 4: Yamg – Khorog
This day you will transfer along Tajik-Afgan border to Khorog. Pamir, White and blue peaks of the Pamir mountain system rise above the Eastern territories of Tajikistan. The country has a great historical wealth, interesting culture, favorable geographical location, water heritage, a variety of natural landscapes and recreational areas, interesting flora and fauna. The Mountains are located at elevations from 3 500 to 4 200 meters above sea level. Externally, the Pamir people are very different from all other inhabitants of Asia. They have a pronounced European appearance: rounded, soft features of the blue eyes, brown or reddish hair. They have preserved their traditions, customs and cultures over the years, and also have their own language. Night you will spend in the guesthouse.
Day 5: Khorog – Kalai Khum
Today you will kick start with driving to Kalai Khum village. It was founded in the XV century as a fortress on the Khumbob river. Until 1878, it was the capital of the independent Tajik khanate of Darvaz. There are high rocky mountains over 6 000 meters and only 1 road was possible to be built. Traveling through the Pamir you will feel the diverse traditions of hospitality and entertainment that are typical for all periods of cultural development. Learn the history and reasons for the formation of the state. Master an unusual exotic culture. En route you will have an opportunity to talk with local people and observe their way of life. On the other side of the river you will observe Afghan stony villages and gardens. You will spend the night in the home stay.
Day 6: Kalai Khum – Norak – Dushanbe
After breakfast you will transfer to Dushanbe. This is the end of driving along Afghanistan border. Today you will drive over Shuraba pass (2 267 m). This is considered the best place of is Territory of Pamir Mountains. On the way you will be amazed by spectacular scenery, magnificent landscapes, and observe fabulous views. All the time Pamirs were great land and always fascinate such world’s greatest explorers – Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. Now you have also a unique opportunity to travel in this divine land. You will transfer today along natural border – Pyanj River. According the tour route you will observe Norak water reservoir that is called Tajik Sea. Night is in a hotel.
Day 7: Dushanbe
Today you will have a full day city tour. During the tour you will visit the best highlights of Dushanbe. You will explore Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. Then you will direct to National park to make photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world that is 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. Further you will head to Central Museum and explore Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. You will also explore Asian Bazaar. Asian Bazaar is a great place to learn about local customs and traditions Night is in a hotel.
Day 8: Flight
In the morning is transfer to the airport.
